A.C.K. Academy is a experimental after-school mastery based mathematics program founded and operated by students within Columbia University's Mathematics Department. Drawing inspiration from research by psychologists, neuroscientists, and educators such as K. Anders Ericsson, Adam Gazzaley, Piotr Wozniak, Robert A. Bjork, Cal Newport, and others, we've developed a program that thoroughly equips children for the world of mathematics and beyond. Unlike traditional tutoring or standard academic after-school programs, our unique system doesn't involve direct teaching or one-on-one guidance. Instead, we see ourselves as your child's math coaches, thoughtfully curating problem sets tailored to their specific skill level. Through an engaging online environment, your child, along with a small group of five peers, actively engages in deliberate practice, receiving prompt feedback and continuous encouragement during their mathematics journey. This approach mirrors the dedication found in an athlete's training regimen, instilling the belief that consistent, deliberate practice leads to true mastery of any subject—mathematics being our chosen domain.

Beyond mathematics, our sessions address a prevalent challenge of our current age: maintaining focused sustained attention. In a world brimming with smartphones, TikTok, YouTube, and other distractions, creating an environment of uninterrupted, deep-focused work can be difficult. To excel in any endeavor, we believe in directing our attention towards what truly matters. A.C.K. Academy uses mathematics as a medium to subtly impart the invaluable skill of sustained attention. While mathematics may pose challenges for many, our guidance and principles are finely tuned to transform this into an exciting journey of growth and instill personal confidence in one's abilities. At A.C.K Academy our primary objective is to unlock your child's full potential through personalized, focused, deliberate practice to learn mathematics.
